Hello
What do you use?
Has anyone tried Structured?
What do people who have ADHD use and recommend.
Thank you.

I personally use OmniFocus 4 (I’m sure there will be loads on this forum that do!)
I haven’t personally tried Structured, however I did purchase Parchment the other day. Chris Lawley does mention he created this as he was struggling with his ADHD and getting things done. I purchased more out of support rather than actually adding this to my workflows.
I’ve also on and off used Things 3 for Checklists, Packing Lists etc. A little bit more complicated of a flow for that one though entering it into Drafts, Mustache Prompt then parsing it into Things!
I am trying to find an app that will help. I will look at Omnifocus. We have Things 3. With advances, and features it is missing, it is too basic. Omnifocus seems powerful - may be too powerful?
When my brain was in a jam several years ago, using Amazing Marvin for tasks helped me out.
Have a look at Amazing Marvin. Users with ADHD seem to find it works well.
Another possible is TickTick.
Both include habit tracking
Thanks - seriously considering Omnifocus Pro.
Things 3 runs my life
I wish it would run ours. The limitations are now jarring.
Todoist keeps on rolling on with some interesting takes on AI these days. I still use it, even though there’s lots of low-hanging fruit that, maddeningly, never seems to get fixed. It’s also a fiddler’s paradise with API, CLI, MCP etc etc., so beware!
You can give it a spin on Pro for 2 months for free with my affiliate link. Full disclosure… I find hardly anyone ever signs up/becomes a paying customer after the trial. Not sure if that’s because it’s too expensive, free is good enough or they just flutter on by to the next new and shiny to play with?
Obviously not sharing it in this post, as keen to not contravene this nice forum’s rules. But if it would be of use for anyone, a quick search of the interwebs will get you to it.![]()
I guess in regards to it being too powerful, that’s only something you can answer in terms of who/what/how you’re going to use it?
Maybe a better way to frame this is, what are you actually needing from your task manager?
Where are your current ones failing? And why? Is it the app, or is it the system/process for input, action and visibility?
I’m sure if you listed out all the things you needed one to do, there would be more than enough recommendations from the forum. But they have to be the right one and fit your needs.
They need to create a process and system that works for your brain and most importantly that you can follow.
I would advise against Marvin, especially with adhd. You end up tinkering with it for much more than needed, it’s clunky and mobile apps are an afterthought (allegedly being rewritten).
I have no idea why they market it towards adhd people, you have more distractions (“Strategies”) on that app than on YouTube imo.
“Keep it simple, stupid”.
Think about it, have you seen any successful/productive person (not a YouTuber who gets paid to promote this stuff, not an anonymous forum post) rave about an app with 458239589 features?
What’s wrong with Things now? It’s one of the most coveted and respected apps in the space and tons of people use it to do real work instead of organizing dashboards.
It would take a heck of an app to make me move from OmniFocus.
I’m another Things user. I miss some features, but, overall I like the mix of the app’s aesthetics and functionality. Structured seems to emphasize time blocking. For deciding on tasks/options in the moment, I prefer Kourosh Dini’s anchor method using pen and paper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L6LiEWynpE
For select routines/habits (also KD inspired) I use a paper grid tracker. I also use the app Streaks for exercise tracking.
The subscription kills it for me ![]()
There’s a straight purchase option.
Or is it the price you don’t like?
Thank you. We’ve bought OmniFocus 4. I think it’s the perspectives option which will be really helpful. I don’t want a subscription because you have to pay for it ongoing.
Curiously, I don’t use OmniFocus all the time. I mostly just use Reminders. But when life gets complicated or turbulent I switch back to OmniFocus until I feel more in control of things.
I try to get OF as simple as I can. The main thing that works for me is I found/learned/put together a bunch of perspectives (basically things like Today, upcoming, upcoming flagged, future, certain tags). And then I stopped fiddling with OF. It’s worked well for me.
