Vision Pros Cracking

Percentage wise, that’s a lot to pay for insurance.

I have it on my Mac Studio because of initial problems with it (why do I buy 1st gen products?); MBP, for potential battery issues after 3 years; and phone because it’s part of the plan. But in years of owning dozens of laptops, watches, iPads, phones, etc. I have never needed Apple Care (knock on wood). I don’t think I am careful with my devices, but reading forums I seem to be much more careful than most. $500 seems insane to me, but then again paying $800 to fix the glass of the AVP seems insane to me.

When you use it with the keyboard/mouse for your Mac Studio, is it as convenient for “real work” as working on a computer?

The Vision Pro? I wrote it up in my initial impression of the AVP somewhere around here, but I did not enjoy it. Mainly because where you look is in focus, but everything around it is fuzzy. I can’t see everything at once like with a real computer monitor, if that makes sense. I quickly shifted to the AVP as purely an entertainment device for now.

Apple just called me and asked a bunch of questions about my uses with it, storage, etc. I told him about my first day with it and the strap being too tight, but there were a lot of questions about if it gets warm when not in use and about when I have left the battery hooked up. They wanted the sizes of everything I use with it and are going to mail me some replacements so they can examine my current accessories.

He also asked if I had any issues with it. I told him it wasn’t always as sharp as I expected, but I think that might be insert related (although Marco Arment says the same thing, and he only wears reading glasses). I also mentioned how I get reflections of very bright things on the inserts and that is probably the thing that bothers me most. He stressed I should go in and get a proper fitting, although the reflections thing that probably wouldn’t help with.

Really friendly and it was cool that they called. Now I feel bad for not paying attention to all the little things so I could provide better info.
