Wait for M2 Macbook Pro upgrade?

Hi MPUers, I have a MBP 2018, intel i7, 32 GB that I have been using for 3.5 yrs. Lately have been enticed by the M1 hype! Recently got a MBP 16, M1 Max 32 core, 64GB from work and it is a beast. Heavy apps like intellij open as fast a light weight text editor (TextEdit) :smile: . This used to take more than a min on the intel machine. But that’s a work machine and I separate work and personal laptops.

Is there going to be a M2 MBP this year and is it worth getting the M2 Max instead of M2 Pro? Has anyone seen any substantial difference? It’s a major purchase (probably > $3k) so thinking carefully about it

Yeah, rumor is that there will be an October event with new iPads and MacBooks. So you don’t have to wait long.
