What's your most minimal ⌘+Tab?

In tidying up my computer this morning to get ready for the day (i.e., procrastinating*), I realized I have a set of apps I keep open no matter what. There are ones that come and go, but I can’t really “work” without these. It changes over time, I guess, but here’s what it is right now. What’s yours?

ID: Finder, Mail, Chrome, Omnifocus, Fantastical

I know I know… sigh.

Mine seems to be pretty dynamic.

I generally always have:

  • Obsidian
  • Safari
  • A PDF reader
  • Finder
  • Discord (:grimacing:)

Often, but not always:

  • DEVONthink
  • Airmail
  • Fantastical
  • Some media maker. OmniGraffle, Keynote/PowerPoint, mmhmm, Word/Pages

On a regular workday (if such a thing exists), I’d be surprised if these apps were not open:

  • BBEdit and/or Pages (depending on what I’m writing)
  • Safari
  • Fantastical
  • iTerm
  • MailMate

Mail
Messages
Facebook Messenger
Drafts
BusyCal
Slack
Mimestream
1Password
Alfred
Day One
OmniFocus
DevonThink
Microsoft Word
Apple News.

Messenger and Apple News aren’t work-related, but they are open all the time.

This is usually the view after I realize I need to close Slack and email if I’m going to do more than solve small problems today. Activity Monitor is the only useless one, but it’s like a security blanket.

P.S. what utilities did you all use to take the screenshot while holding cmd+tab open? I resorted to a screen shot of a screen recording. :frowning:

I have a personal Mac Mini for Photos, Plex and backup, but I can’t use it for work. Work provide me a Dell which is a good machine and Windows 10 has been solid.
