Why do you use GoodNotes, Notability or other instead of Apple Notes?

So, if you are using a 3rd party app instead of Apple Notes, why; what is the compelling feature(s) that cause you to make this decision?

I’m currently testing GoodNotes as a note taking device. Biggest advantage is handwriting recognition. Biggest disadvantage is inability to easily share/sync notes across iOS and Mac without using iCloud.

I use the writing apps after the study session to write down the notes. The process of writing helps me better remember the concepts.
