Will quitting Apple Music destroy your music library?

I wonder if letting your subscription lapse for a few months would affect songs, albums, playlists etc. you have paid for?

Would Apple hold on to your Photo Library awhile were you to let your extra fees lapse for a few months? I can’t imagine it happening but you never know.

Nope. You own what you own. I subscribed to Apple Music for a while before switching to Apple Match.

What happens is that the songs you didn’t own get greyed out and you cannot play them. They are still in your playlists, and I think ( it’s been a while ) in your songs/artists sections, but all greyed out so that you can only view properties and that is it.

Having the unavailable songs remain in playlists was pretty useful to me, as I went through them and purchased the ones I wanted. Then I removed the ones that I didn’t want from the playlist.
