02 Sensor on new Black Ultra 2

Unordered this and completely forgot about the O2 sensor lawsuit. Does anyone know if the sensor is still on this model but will just need to be activated once everything is worked out?

It’s been discussed in another thread as well, but yes, the sensor is there because it still works everywhere outside the US. Will it work after things are sorted out? Probably depends on how it’s sorted out. If Apple can use the feature, but must find another way to do it in the US, it will never work in the US.

Looks like they are still fighting.

Yeah, this fight will probably last long enough that folks forget the O2 sensor is a thing.

Are there any major differences in how your calories are calculated between the watches with and without the sensor activated? I use Fitness+ everyday and hope I don’t see a major change in my recorded performance just because some data is missing, ie O2 levels and VO2 Max calculations.

I very attracted to the new S10 design, but am glad to have gotten an S9 with a working O2 sensor while they were still available in the U.S.

VO2 isn’t related to calories. It’s a separate metric. I don’t know if the O2 sensor is involved in calorie counting, but I’d be surprised.
