+1 for ExtraBar

I just startedf using this app this week but I am convinced it will be a keeper.

It’s not a Bartender replacement; it complements it. Bartender removes stuff from the menu bar; ExtraBar adds to the menu bar - with a very high degree of customization possible including deep linking for any apps which have a URL scheme.

It is similar to XMenu in some ways - but with a greater ability to customize it.

Price is reasonable and a 1-time purchase; many will view that as a plus, though I wonder if it will be sustainable long-term.

(from their FAQ)

I wanted to try out ExtraBar, but not like this! :frowning:

I am surprised that an app can find a niche that is different then the apps that I am currently using, Trickster, Dropshelf, etc. The concept of per app Actions displayed in the menu bar is excellent. In general the GUI is well designed and intuitive. I was Apprehensive about the need to subscribe before trying it but I am glad I did.**

It’s EUR 9.99 for a lifetime license. If nothing else worth it to support an indie developer who is clearly making an effort to contribute.

Agreed; the price is definitely not bad if the app is useful.

Unfortunately, I can’t spend €9,99 (+ taxes) on any random Indie app developer to find out whether their app might be useful to me.

I also don’t have the time to request a refund for every app that turns out to be not useful to me.

That’s why I prefer time-limited free trials, but maybe that’s just me?

PS: Apologies for my complaining/negativity; there are better ways to start a new year…
