As promised, here is my review of using my new iPad Air vs my 2018 iPad Pro.
The iPad Air must of been “new old stock” as it came in the original unopened box. Battery was dead but charged without issue.
Both are 11" models and work perfectly with my Magic Keyboard. The form factor between the two is nearly identical. The Air is slightly lighter than the Pro.
Pros for the Air:
Battery life is between 7-8 hours of normal use.
Center stage camera is delightful!
1TB of storage is amazing!
Display is almost as good as the Pro.
Price was impossible to pass up from WOOT/Amazon
Cons for Air:
Was hoping for a little more battery life.
Lack of Face ID was almost a deal breaker during the first week of use. I really miss it!
M2 chip doesn’t “feel” any faster than the A12X Bionic chip.
Less speakers and microphones are noticeable.
Overall thoughts are I will keep the iPad Air. I was planning on trading in the iPad Pro at the Apple Store but may keep it as a travel device for a while.
