This is great! I’ve been friends with Derek since I moved back to NZ pre-covid, and he truly is the real deal. The man you hear on the podcast is the same as the man in real life.
From a “productivity” point of view, I marvel at how he’s managed to do two things very very well - find a global audience and spend a load of time thinking deeply. He’s got a very loud public voice (in that lots of people hear him) but a very quiet, thoughtful life. Love that.

I have shown Derek’s “first follower” TED talk in so many lectures on leadership that I actually keep an offline copy. Excited for this one!

Excellent episode. Not losing your thoughts being drowned is a sea of social media is a sobering concept.
