@MacSparky l believe the correct term for 5 Stream decks is a “pride.”

An ergonomic alternative to trackball mice are vertical mice. They’re nice because your hand rests on them in a more natural position than the claw shape of the MX Master 3S. I use the Logi Lift and really like it. Logitech also has the MX Vertical which is bigger and nicer (I’ll get this if they ever update to support their newer Bolt receiver).

I’m a fan of the Logitech MX Vertical (even though I had to have my initial mouse replaced under warranty); it’s more comfortable to use than a traditional/horizontal mouse. On a side note, I use BetterTouchTool instead of the Logi Options+ app. I find BTT is much more reliable and configurable.

Did they say which UPS they use. I don’t see it in the show notes.

In the section at the end for subscribers, @MacSparky talks about the first time he bought a hard drive for his Atari computer as a teenager. It reminded me of when I bought an external disc drive for my 128K Mac. It enabled me to load the system software on the Mac without manually swapping the discs what seemed like 100 times each session. I felt like I was in technology nirvana with that huge step forward!

And much faster than when I was loading programs into my Apple IIe via cassette tape. Ah, the good ole days.

I did that also with my Atari to load games prior to my Mac days.

I believe I heard Stephen make a reference to a CyberPower UPS. I have a few of them and have been happy with them, too.

So Apple’s Vision Pro case is the NASA case. But the real question is did @MacSparky get the black and white Waterfield “Storm Trooper” case or a different color?

I remember buying a CompuAdd PC when i was in college. I upgraded to the 60MB (yes, megabyte) hard drive and the sales associate suggested I stick with the standard 20MB drive. “You’ll never need 60MB,” she told me.

She was probably right for the era. And in those days of DOS, I had to partition the drive into two 30s.

@MacSparky did you mention the speaker stands you are using for your micro iloud monitors? I looked at the note but didn’t see it and can’t quite find it in the audio. Thanks.

@kayle Just connecting them to light poles with a clamp I got off Amazon …

Just a quick note regarding the Peak Design iPhone cases. I’m a huge fan and backed them on their first Kickstarter campaign. For anyone interested, I encourage you to consider the case with the loop on the back for a variety of phone uses, whether that’s reading, talking, dictating, listening to podcasts or audiobooks, etc. It simply offers an additional level of stability and protection from accidental drops. It rests flush with the back so does not interfere when not in use. Often when walking and listening to podcasts, the phone just hangs securely from my finger. Cheers.

This episode made me finally upgrade my mouse. After years of Amazon and Belkin $9.99 mice, I grabbed a Logitech Master Mx s2… really happy with it.

I’ve been using a Magic Trackpad for about five years, and I love it, but the siren song of a real mouse is really calling out to me!

I find it very efficient to use both a mouse and a trackpad, especially for things like photo and video editing. I’m right-handed and have a Magic Trackpad to the left of my keyboard and a Logitech MX Vertical to the right.
