After using Newsify and Apple News for months I loaded up Reeder and while it felt like an old friend had returned I was also immediately dissatisfied with the waste of space that sat empty waiting for me to select an article in the sidebar. I loaded up Newsify to compare then Apple News which I’ve been spitting 50/50 with Newsify the past 6 months. Did a bit of experimenting trying to find something that used my screen space properly, gave me the enjoyable browsing experience of Apple News but didn’t waste my screen space with News+ stuff. Wrote this blog post bit this morning for anyone interested in tweaking Newsify to get some pretty nice results.

Leaf is my choice on the Mac. It gives you the full article in one click and a second click puts it puts it in “reader mode”. On the iPad I love putting Tweetbot on one half and Newsify on the other for searches, although it does cramp Newsify. But at least I can quickly scroll through and eliminate duplicates and then switch Newsify to full screen.
