Been trying to find a work around to this puzzle for months now hoping someone has insights into this issue. I can’t seem to use a 2tb owc ssd as a boot drive on a 5,1 mac pro running High Sierra, however, it does mount and is usable as a storage device on daud system. Just cannot boot from it. I have tried setting it up as a jbod as well as separate blades to try to get to be recognizable as a boot drive with no success. Any help would be appreciated

This from the OWC site:
Bootable using a single, independent M.2 startup disk, with the other three M.2 SSDs configured as independent volumes or as a software RAID (SoftRAID or Apple RAID). macOS 10.14.6 required on Mac Pro (2010-2012). macOS 10.15.1 or later required on Mac Pro (2019).
SO, have you split it and then have the single M.2 show up as a target for
a High Sierra install?
Thank you for your response. I did initially split off a single blade and it did appear in the option boot menu, would not boot stayed in the white screen. I tried using CCC to clone a working bootable drive to a single blade as well, would not boot. I tried fresh installing a HS to a single blade it did appear in option menu no result in option boot menu would not boot, did a fresh install, without results. Upgrading to Mojave involves upgrading my graphics card to support metal which also negates my ability to option boot in the future.
Hmm, wonder if that’s the issue? Graphics card is stepping
on something? Sorry no help from me, assume you have
pinged OWC? Maybe a firmware upgrade is available?
I really appreciate your input, yes exhausted owc support. hoping and waiting for possibly a firmware fix/patch from owc in the future. thank you again.
