Adaptive Noise cancellation

Hi everyone, I’ve got a question about adaptive noise cancellation.

I’ve noticed that the icon is sometimes greyed out rather than in colour. This has changed a few times and I’m wondering if it’s signifies anything specific.

Does anybody know?

I’ve put a couple of images in as to what it looks like when greyed out compared to what it looks like in colour.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be the case?

ANC does requiring using both AirPods, is it possible you are sometimes using only one or perhaps one of the AirPods connection has dropped?

Check firmware of the AirPods, iOS and all the usual stuff too.

i’ll check the firmware! But I rarely have one earphone in. This isn’t something that I see on my iPad right now. Just the iPhone.
