I’m hoping that there may be a power Music.app user who has uncovered a backdoor to add a photo to the Artist listings (replacing that generic microphone icon).
I have a large and unusual Music library where I’ve supplied most of the Album art, but it has long been a limitation that you cannot do this with Artists. I do have a handful of Artists where there are photos, which I’m guessing were supplied by Apple or Gracenote when I copied the CD to my library. I did find that these image files reside here: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.AMPArtworkAgent/Data/Documents/artwork
I’m hoping that if the Music.app can gather metadata from Gracenote there’s some way of communicating to the app where perhaps a Terminal command could be launched to feed an Artist image to the app.
Has anyone here gone down this rabbit hole or would be up for the challenge?
