How can i create a work flow when pictures are added to a specific folder on my Mac, they are then imported into Apple Photos?
If you have Hazel, there’s an Import Into Photos option and you could match on images in the folder.
Alternatively, you could schedule a shortcut using something like Shortery.
There’s probably a more efficient way to build this shortcut.

Everybody should own Hazel.
I just created a Photos workflow that goes the other way, earlier this week.
I have a Smart Album which makes certain selections including a date range. I set the range to the latest whole month (or months), then export all selected original images (basically, any photo taken with the phone) to a folder. Hazel then performs renames to a timestamp format and sorts them into YYYY/MM folders. Finally, I copy the renamed and sorted images to a folder on my Synology where they are uploaded to Backblaze B2 automatically.
This is how I archive my iCloud Photos. Both to be in a more accessible format (just files in a directory) and also backed up outside of iCloud and offsite.
