Tell me, my friends, I’m wondering if you can tell how much of my newest book - an illustrated kids book for CEOs - was made with AI?
None? Some? All?
I’d love to know what you think? You probably know that I’ve written a few books the old way, and my first book took me 11 years to write, and also that I’ve wrote my last 2 books with the help of AI.
I give you a hint: It wasn’t none - I definitely used Claude code to make the website, and I think its kinda snazzy.
Any guesses?
It takes about 6 minutes to read it.
It may be my best work ever, I think.
(I wish I’d added some em dashes to obfuscate things.)

(I am acutely aware that this post might offend some people, and I don’t want to do that. But my answers, which I will share, might also help some people.)
It’s a nice project!
I think this image was the most obviously AI generated - the font, something about the wording and placement of the bullets.
I don’t know if it’s AI, but there are stretches where the writing is less engaging; have you tried reading it aloud? That always helps me. (I’m always editing as I go when reading most children’s books for meter, especially; I can’t help it.)
You got to a good place with a consistency of the snail images, overall. That must’ve taken some work.

Looking good! I would just check the consistency of the shell the animal lives in. The ‘twist’ in the shell has sometimes disappeared, and also sometimes on the left instead of the right.
Hi Clarke,
A wonderful story, and a metaphor I actually very much needed to think on right now. I appreciate your work here, and sharing it with us.
The only “tell” for me was the images. Like corn chip, the For Sale sign is the most obvious to me. The shade of red for some reason marks it out for me.
Best of luck with your project!
