I searched the group and did not find an answer to this question. My airpods Pro 2 lose their charge quite rapidly. I also have the original Pros and they hold the charge much better. I’ve googled and done all the things (cleaned the case, contacts on the pods, unpaired, repaired. I have 4 days to go on my ‘partial’ warranty and there is no Apple Store in town. The cost for mailing them in to be replaced/repaired was laughable. (quasi 250). I see several replacement cases on Amazon for about $25. Does anyone have luck or can recommend any of these?
Is it the case that loses charge quickly, or the AirPods themselves? Also how long have you had them?
Is there an Apple Reseller locally who could help you?
If it’s the Airpods losing charge quickly then changing the battery case likely won’t improve that, the batteries on the AirPods tend to degrade more quickly than the cases.
Apple will sell you new AirPods without a case, but for the cost, it’s usually not too much more to buy new Airpods.
Yeah–I’m going to monitor pretty closely but not throw good money after bad. . or whatever the appropriate saying is.
I’m with Geoff on this, probably not the Case but the AirPods. How long does a charge last? Are you using Active Noise Cancellation? Is one losing power before the other?
Not a fan of any 3rd party case for AirPods… just sayin’
Apple will offer replacement AirPods in or out of warranty. OOW Pro models were $99US each last time I inquired.
Not to tempt you, but Amazon is selling AirPods Pro 3 for $199US today.
Best of luck!
I’ve now had 4 sets of AirPods (2 x standard and 2 x Pro) and in every single case, the left AirPod loses battery capacity before the Right. I pretty much always wait them as a pair and if I do wear one it’s the right.
Truly bizarre.
I don’t have any experience with the cheap AirPods cases. At least on the DownUnder version of Amazon cases that cheap seem to be covers rather than charging cases.
If you have an iPad, try opening and closing the AirPods in their case while on the iPad Home Screen - that may bring up an overlap which shows how much charge there is in the case and the individual earpieces.
When I had to replace a case, it proved quite problematic as the cases for each generation were different. I wound up buying a new product on eBay.
Then my son decided his brand new AirPods Pro 3 didn’t fit so I bought them off him. Other than the different fit, I am not sure I have noticed any difference with the AirPods Pro 2. So that could be a cheaper option.
