Any experiences with Bee Bracelet?

I bought a Bee Bracelet. It is basically a microphone that you wear on your wrist that will record conversations and then use AI to transcribe them, initially in a summarized form. The real brains are managed through your iPhone. I read Joanna Stern’s book, I Am Not a Robot, and she thought it a little creepy, but also found it useful.
I used it for a couple days, and thought that it might be useful to me with my aging memory. It stopped working after only two days and could not be resuscitated. Recharging it did not help.
I initiated a process to return it to the manufacturer for refund or replacement. I provided reason was that it did not work. The response from the manufacturer was that they were “reviewing” my return. That was three weeks ago. I have not heard from them since. I have send them two additional emails.
Bee is owned by Amazon currently, but you buy directly from Bee. [Amazon itself is extremely responsive to return requests but this does not seem to be the case with Bee]. My initial annoyance of having hardware fail after only two days has been replaced by a growing irritation at the lack of response from Bee.
I am curious if any MPUers have had good or bad experiences with Bee.

I have relatives who would disown any other relative who used an AI mic to record the room. They’re right.

I don’t but with the proliferation of devices that can record and have AI transcribe conversations without you knowing it, I always assume that every conversation I have is being recorded. We have Amazon Echos throughout the house, so we are already under self imposed surveillance. It’s 1984 42 years later.

There are actually legal issues surrounding recorded conversations that vary by state. I broad terms, it is illegal to record a conversation without the consent of all parties involved in some states. At least such data is not admissible in court or for distribution. If you confine use of the recording only for your own use, it may not be illegal in some states or in some circumstances.

In other states, it is legal for one participant to record the conversation without the consent of the others. No matter what state you are in, it is polite to ask for permission before recording a conversation.

Not all circumstances are simple, however.
