Any negative experience with Fastmail?

No complaints… love it, and great customer service

Fastmail definitely supports IMAP.

The only negative that I can give to Fastmail is that if you want to use it with your family (say you + spouse + child) it is quite expensive compared to the alternatives, most of which are “free”.

For that reason I have left my wife and son with Gmail accounts¹ because they largely don’t care (my wife treats email as mostly an obligation and my son [18] mostly ignores his emails entirely unless they’re from a college he’s interested in attending).

If they introduced some sort of a “family plan” that would be great, but other than that, I can’t think of a problem that I’ve had with them.

I use the Fastmail app on my iOS devices and Fmail on my Mac (but plan to check out Fastmate mentioned above)…

¹ they have their own email addresses at our family domain, and those are not gmail addresses… but they forward to a gmail address, so if they ever decide they want to change from Gmail to another provider (or if they ever got locked out of their gmail accounts for inexplicable reasons) they could do so fairly easily.

@tjluoma They made changes to their plans recently where you can share your custom domains with standard accounts.

Not exactly a family plan but very close…

Huh. Thanks. Somehow I missed that completely. :+1:
