Anybody here uses an eink tablet like boox, supernote or remarkable? What’s your workflow?

Send me yours and I’ll give it a try. No guaranties, though.

Thanks for the long reply! Glad you enjoy it. Although I keep hoping for Apple to get into the game. The possibility of using such a device makes me think, whether I should look for more cross-platform services when I decide on software in the future.

The security concerns come up a lot. And it was a consideration for me, since I’m Apple only and security is one of the reasons for that.

I’m stuck because of Apple not making an e-ink device, but for what it’s worth I have wi-fi disabled most the time on my Boox. I don’t need it for what I use it for (reading and now note-taking), and I just turn it on when I’m ready to sync something. (This is done the same way as on an Apple device, with a button to turn on and off in the control centre, so it’s no trouble to just do this when needed.)

“The Boox is not an iPad” is a phrase that has a deeper weight than it shows. The difference is not only the screen, it’s the whole ecosystem. I got an Boox Max Lumi 2 and the nuisance of setting up the Wi-Fi passwords without iCloud was just the beginning. Everything else had so much friction that I had to return it, even when the hardware itself is not bad at all!

So I guess this is just another aspect of the Apple walled garden.

Thank you for this write-up!! After much consternation, I’ve decided to buy the Remarkable 2 instead of the Boox. It seems like Boox is much more of a gadget that requires some fiddling and I think that will run counter-intuitive to what I want from a device like this even if it’s more capable and has that sweet 300ppi screen.
