Anybody recommend an aftermarket wireless CarPlay adapter

I have USB A CarPlay in my 2019 Toyota rav4. Wireless CarPlay might be nice.

Does anybody have good experience with the little wireless CarPlay dongles? I know that wireless CarPlay = more buffering/ lag and some people don’t like that.

Bonus points if you have tried multiple wireless dongles and have a clear favorite.

I have wireless carplay and I NEVER use it. The 1.5-2 second lag is unbearable for podcasts or even music.

I tried a couple of dongles in my last car, which had an aftermarket head unit fitted (made by Kenwood) fitted to replace the factory fitted unit. The unit has wired CarPlay/Android Auto, but no wireless option. Most adapters would not work with this head unit and I only found one that did reliably. There is a link below to the Amazon listing.

I’m not sure if this is available in Canada (I’m in the UK), but hopefully you might be able to get one via Amazon’s Canadian site.

I have a wireless dongle in my ‘22 Toyota Prius that works ok. No noticeable lag but it does fail to connect sometimes, about 1 out of 10 trips. Don’t know the brand as it was a freebie.

The wireless car play in my Mustang Mach-E works perfectly except for linking to my wife’s phone if she gets in the car first.
