Anyone else a Government employee discount apple

Hello,

I work for a city. We used to go to the Apple Store and they would give us a little discount. But now I saw this website and is it any good? Is it worth it

Has anyone ever used this before??

I used to work for a multinational that had one of those employee perks sites that included many discounts from different companies, ranging from coffee shops and gyms to organisations such as HP, Dell, and Apple. I can remember the discount, but it was somewhere between 10 and 15%. for Apple.

What is it you are worried about?

Just curious if you can get this deal in the store? Also if you do it on the website you can’t do monthly payments on anything.

If I remember correctly… the Government discount must be used online for verification purposes. The Military discount went this way as well back around 2015.

Monthly payments are only available to Regular and Educational customers AFAIK.

9 years ago I retired from my side teaching job and could no longer legitimately use the educational discount. But since it was a state college and I was a retired government employee I looked at the Government discount. While the Education store gave a 10% discount the Government store only gave 5%. I just looked at it again and they don’t even give that on many items (such as upgrades beyond the base Mac models).

So basically if you want to buy new you are better off at Best Buy, Amazon, Costco or other retailer when they run sales. I almost always, even before retiring, buy Apple Refurbished which gives an even larger discount and offers the same warranty as new. You can often snag units with extra RAM or SSD that you can’t find in the retail stores. Typically because of the thorough inspection they give these units they are often better than new ones.

Also note that if you get the Apple credit card you get an additional 3% off with that.

I retired from the U.S. Air Force and am eligible for and use the military discount. It’s 10%, so I almost always buy direct from Apple.

I think any vet can qualify, too. You have to have an ID.me account that verifies your military service.
