I heard about the Fantasy Hike app on MPU about 18 months ago.
It tracks your steps and moves you through a fantasy world. Anyway, I just finished my “quest” 452 days after starting. It’s been a fun little app and there were definitely days in the winter when it tipped the balance in favor of going for a walk.
Halfway through. Would be farther if a medical issue hadn’t sidelined me for 9 months.
I thought it was cool at the beginning but truth is, it’s kind of boring after a while. They should have come up with more engaging graphics. Sometimes you see a written description such as “you’re being chased by xyz” but no sign of it in the graphics. This could have been a great app but there doesn’t seem to be much love (or programming effort) invested into making it truly engaging.
I tried it also after it was featured on MPU, but halfway through last year, I damaged my ankle quite badly and was unable to walk for a while. Maybe it’s time to revive it?
