I just ran EtreCheck, and it lists:
2020-01-27 熊掌记 (1.7.8)
under Software Installs (past 30 days).
I have no idea what it is. Anyone?
(I’m surprised EtreCheck has only been mentioned once here on the Discourse.)

I googled it and it came up as the website Bear.app
Yeah, I did that too. It also show Ulysses, appchina(dot)com, etc.
Google translates it to ‘Bear’s Paw’.
I don’t know what it is though, or why it’s something installed last week, and that appears in a crash log as also being installed on 9/24/2019.
Yeah, I did too
I checked my Bear update date, and it is the same, and the software version is the same. So I think that’s enough evidence to conclude it is Bear. I tweeted to them, hopefully they will respond.
I also just uninstalled it, as I’m trying to reduce clutter, streamline, and have fewer options for apps to use.
Thanks for looking it up!
Hey @JohnAtl, when you run EtraCheck does it report a corrupt /etc/hosts file? Mine is actually empty, as is /private/etc/hosts.
No, it lists it, but doesn’t complain about it.
Configuration Files:
/etc/hosts - Count: 1
I run Docker, so mine has one entry:
##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
# Added by Docker Desktop
# To allow the same kube context to work on the host and the container:
127.0.0.1 kubernetes.docker.internal
