Anyone using Windsurf (instead of Cursor)?

Myself and my network have all seemed to settle on Cursor, I love it and it fits with my way of thinking and working. Each release, especially 1.6, has worked more and more how I want to.

I’ve not tried Windsurf, so I asked around and everyone is using Cursor. To try and get away from this confirmation bias…

Has anyone tried both and settled on Windsurf? Or, is anyone here using Windsurf? Why?

  • Cursor
  • Cursor CLI
  • Open Code

I used Claude Code briefly but favored Open Code and Cursor CLI for the model choice flexibility.

I’ve found it to be better. it also has a Intellij/Pycharm extension so you get all the benefits of a real IDE, rather than a rich text editor like vs code.

Cursor has some nicer features, but I’ve found same models in windsurf perform better.
