App To Bring Back Easier To Read and reply Notifications (extreme longshot)

I’m pretty positive this can’t be done through third parties but figured it anyone would know it would be this group.

~5 years ago Apple (in my opinion) broke notifications on the Mac. In the past, I could get a Slack message, have it fly out from the top right, there was a reply box, I could click into that box, type reply, hit send and notification dismissed itself.

Now I need to find the magic hover area, hover, click more (or something like that), and actually I don’t even know the rest, I just give up and open the app.

Is there an app out there that brings back notifications that I can reply through.

Growl is a macOS app that lets you do things with notifications:

I’m not sure if it would work for this and can’t find documentation, but it’s worth trying!

Perhaps you’ve already done this, but confirm the notifications for Slack are on in System Settings:

I do not use Slack, so I cannot check that it will appear in the “Application Notificaitons” list, but if it does click the “>” on the right to set up notifications.
