This is an issue that likely impacts myself and five other people in the world.
For various reasons I often use Apple’s Earbuds with my phone for calls, podcasts, and background music.
With the new phones, at least for Pro/ProMax 17, the middle button on the wire is now useless. The mediocre sound is still the same, the volume controls work, but the middle button for pause/start/skip no longer work.
I’m assuming this is because of the move to usb-c 3 in the pro models – though I thought the 3 standard just had to do with throughput for charging. Not entirely sure why that impacts simple functionality.
It’s a minor annoyance, but it may impact other types of usb-c accessories.
