This is also fascinating because Apple’s machine learning group has a particularly unique opportunity to publish the research work it’s doing. As far as I understand it, other groups at Apple are not typically allowed to share work in progress like this, but it’s apparently hard to recruit ML researchers to work for you if you disallow publishing.

Thank you for posting this. I never thought an article about Machine Learning could make me so happy! Incredible technology, but with such a ‘human’ touch. So reminiscent of the Apple that many of us have grown up with over the years.
I thought the water reminder part was amazing. Then I lost it when the music scene came on hahaha!
Maybe this is the new siri we’ve been waiting for. I want one!
