I have googled and cannot find a solution to this (I think) two prong problem:
I have 2 Droid cousins on a group text and when they respond to a group text, it splits into separate conversations. I thought this would disappear with the latest ios ipad update but not. I have MMS and RCS checked.
When I try to send a picture to a Droid user, I get the message that MMS messaging needs to enabled. I have checked, unchecked and checked again to no avail. I appreciate (in advance) the help I get from this group.
Could be a carrier issue. Both your cell provider and theirs need to support RCS. Could also be a setting on their phone or lack of support for RCS due to OS version.
From what I have learned about this issue… ALL people in the group chat NEED to enable MMS and RCS for it to work. I started having this issue a few weeks ago in a chat w/30 people. About 6 people are on Android. It was a real pain to figure out which persons were out of sync.
Not only the carriers need to support RCS, also make sure recipients didn’t disable it. Couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t send RCS messages to my son until he told me he’s not using the standard messaging app on his Pixel but a third part one that apparently doesn’t support RCS.
