Apple Music: “This song is not currently available in your country or region”

On a three-month trial of Apple Music.

This morning’s 1st world problem: my iPhone suddenly says “This song is not currently available in your country or region” for many, many, many songs. (This was not the case last night.)

My iPad — logged in with the same iCloud account — has no problems playing the songs.

I powered-down and powered-up the phone but saw nothing different.

Any suggestions?

I got in touch with Apple Music support.

One of their recommendations solved the problem on first try.

“Sign Out and Sign back in Apple ID from the iTunes and App Store under Settings.”

Steve

I did this and lost half my music!

What do you mean by “lost half my music”?

You may need to re-enable “Show Apple Music” and “iCloud Music Library” in order to see those songs again.

Yeah this “solution” did nothing but waste my time. Didn’t help me at all, guess I gotta contact apple music myself
