I often save AI responses to Notes. If true, this will be a great feature.
This is where Apple can shine. As others have said, there is probably little advantage to investing a lot of time and expense building your own foundation models if you aren’t going to sell/lease them to developers to build upon.
Now that Apple has access to Gemini they can enhance their own apps and build new ones specific to the needs of their customers.

Siri will also be able to handle other types of tasks, such as creating a Notes document with a cooking recipe or information about the top causes of drug addiction, for instance.
Sounds like Claude artifacts, but created directly in Notes.
That’s really the “table stakes” of leveraging AI in an operating system. Stuff like this can be done with Shortcuts or Macro apps but where AI can shine from a UX view is making this stuff trivially easy and extend a bit more functionality than our manual efforts.
