Apple offers a 10% discount to current and Veteran members of the US Military, National Guard and Reserve. This includes members of the Air Force, Space Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, U.S. Public Health Service, and NOAA Corps. Immediate family members who reside in the same household are also eligible.
This discount applies to all merchandise, including brand new pre-orders like the Mac Studio and Studio Display.

They have for years (decades?). Now they use this ID site to verify which is handy. It used to be easier to go into the store to take advantage of it (or you could jump through some hoops but I can’t remember the process now).
All that said, I never take advantage of it, because I am usually buying stuff day of release, and it used to be that the vet site didn’t support that. Has that changed?

Yes, the vet store now supports pre-orders, same-day, etc. In the past the discount only applied to older merchandise, not the new toys. That changed a few years ago.
I have a new Studio Mac and Studio Display on order, both with a 10% discount. That’s a savings of hundreds of dollars.
I’ll be sure to use it when I order my Mac Studio early next year
