Assuming that the return on Apple approach holds up, perhaps Apple is smarter than our sometimes hand-wringing gives credit for. 
I instinctively discount predictions based on share price movement. Stock markets are driven more by emotion and hope of a short-term gain than anything else (yes, of course there are some more thoughtful traders, but a minority only).
2 weeks ago Apple was universally agreed to be falling behind and in existential danger; now it’s blazing the trail and the world will follow onward and upward.
Any suggestion that I am cynical is, of course, utterly misconceived.

I’ll reserve judgement on that. Right now Apple Intelligence is just a bunch of promises that may work about as well as Siri when it was launched, or may be outstanding. But as usual, Apple plays PR shockingly well.
