Apple shortcuts using siri Apple intelligence to rename a file - stumbling blocks when going from Mac to iPad

Hi All, this is my first post.

I followed MacMost on Youtube video: “Using Apple Intelligence and Shortcuts To Rename Files”. On that video he is using shortcuts with an internal action that uses the Apple Intelligence Private Cloud Compute model to look at a file to rename it based on context. In his use-case it is photo and it describes the photo renaming the .heic or .jpg name. Very clever!

So far I am able to extrapolate that use-case to reading a picture or pdf file that is a scan of a receipt/invoice. I am able to create a shortcut and use the Apple Intelligence private cloud compute model to look at the file and rename it to type_vendor_DDMMYYYY.fileextension. An example is Receipt_Joe_Shoe_Shop_15042026.pdf.

I’ve tested it out and it works great on MacOSx Tahoe 26.3.1. It was able to rename the file 95% of the time and it also renamed a file “couldntfindvendor” or something akin to that when it couldnt see it on the scan which is also great.

Feeling emboldened I pulled up my iPad to try it out and use the same shortcut to apply to a photograph that i could effectively snap with the camera. Unfortunately this is where I have come unstuck. The error comes back as “No bookmark found for file”. I dont have a clue what that means.

My observations are:

  • On the iPad it is trying to access the file from an icloud folder - I long hold and select share.
  • When i activate the shortcut using show in share sheet it refers to opening a folder that i do not recognise a string of numbers and dashes which I presume is some kind of unique identifier.
  • As the shortcut is activated I am stuck with an error “. No bookmark found for file. The operation couldnt be completed. No bookmark found for file.” What is even a bookmark?

Has anyone tried and come across this issue before? Ideally id like a shortcut that works on the phone, iPad and Mac where i can apply this apple intelligence rename trick.

thanks in advance.
