As you may know, Apple has a promotion on their education store whereby you are gifted an Apple gift card of varying amount, depending on the item you’re buying.
I was window shopping today and found that I couldn’t select either of the two financing options after walking through the checkout. This is because the providers require that everything is delivered in one go. The high-value item had a delivery date a week or two in the future.
After ejecting everything, including AppleCare, still the finance options would not light up.
I think it must be because the gift card is “delivered” by email, immediately, and is in the basket, thus violating the providers’ rule.
I got bored and didn’t test with an off-the-shelf item.
Anyone had any luck with this particular promotion, using financing?

I’ve never seen finance options when shopping via the education store. I don’t think it’s related to the gift card necessarily, they just don’t do it for students/educators or something.
