How? I could not even achieve a day long except in low power mode. Gave up, returned it and sprang for an Ultra.

Disabled WiFi, dictation, and a a bunch of nonsenses like notifications of many many apps.
Also disabled the Background refresh of several apps. Also the always on display.

54 hours in, battery was still at 19%

Got anxious and charged it.
Should get same results every time from now on

Thanks.

I decided I preferred the always on display and I think the only notifications I get are for Messages and WhatsApp, which I find useful, and when I set a timer.

(If only the Messages were marked as “read” on my iPhone and other devices after I have checked / dismissed them on my watch.)

It is interesting to see how much battery life can be squeezed out of an Apple Watch. This would not work for me, though. I cannot live without the always-on display, and I enjoy too many of the possibilities the Watch has to offer.

Have you tried using the Low Power Mode?

I haven’t, yet.
Might be able to make battery last 1 week without charging?

I left notifications on, but only for some.
Meetings, reminders, calendars, etc

The main reason I wear an AW is so my phone can stay in my pocket. So without an always on display, or optional apps, my 4 year old SE still lasts all day.

I got about 2.5 days once out of a Series 6 on a trip to a cabin with no charger. I wasn’t wearing it all the time, but I only used low power mode for the last 10%.

24 hour battery life is doable in normal circumstances, even with a bunch of notifications enabled and screen on.

I get similar battery times with my Ultra 2, as the OP reported.

One glitch though is that the Ultra needs to be shut down and restarted after an autoupdate of Watch OS in the 26.x series. For some reason the battery times decline every time a dot release of 26.x comes along. A shutdown/reboot sequence fixes it.

Probably just another Tahoe-family bug.

2.5 days, nice.

I think the defaults by Apple are on the wrong side.
Why should we be allowing almost every single app have a background refresh?!

Oh, and I have hourly chimes on, sleep tracking on, Siri.

/rant end

Second run:

63 hours (2.5 days), 10% left.
Will turn on low power mode

Do you track any activities (such as walking, biking, swimming, etc.) on this watch?

Been busy so haven’t used walk this week
