Apple Watch Series 5 going rogue!

Help! My old Apple Watch recently started asking me multiple times a day to login with my Apple account password literally from the watch but nowhere else. I have a complex password, and the first letter is lower-case. But, if I try to painstakingly draw my password on the watch, character by arduous character, it keeps auto-correcting the first character to a capital letter, and also won’t interpret capital O’s as anything but lower-case o’s. I don’t know why it’s all of a sudden asking for my password on ONLY this device… I can’t satisfy the prompt from the Watch app on my iPhone either. The watch is otherwise working fine in all ways other than it’s just old. I can’t even blame Liquid Glass because it’s too old to upgrade from the previous watchOS! Help a brother out?! I’m out of ideas and can’t afford a new watch rn. TIA!

I don’t think that this necessarily is related to your Apple Watch 5.

It has happened to me before.

When it is happening to me, I am following these escalating steps:

  1. Turn my Apple Watch off and then on again…

If it does not help:

  1. Turn my Apple Watch off. Turn my iPhone off. Turn my iPhone on again. Turn my Apple Watch on again.

If it still does not help:

  1. I wait some days and ignore the issue, until I start again with 2)

If this still does not help (I have done that once or twice just because of this issue):

  1. I set my Apple Watch up as new…

P.S. Both my Apple Watches have requested my Apple account passwords in recent days. In my case, 1) was enough to get rid of the issue. Maybe, something is wrong on Apple’s end (again) these days?
