AppleCare for iPad pays off

As I mentioned on Twitter, I had a little incident involving slipping on ice while carrying my iPad.

Fortunately the iPad is still covered by AppleCare.

Yesterday I called AppleCare around 1:30 p.m. and talked with them for about 20 minutes. They arranged to ship me a replacement iPad and then I’ll send the broken one back.

The AppleCare rep told me to expect it within 3-5 business days.

Today at 12:45 p.m. FedEx delivered my replacement iPad Pro.

24 hours after calling AppleCare, my iPad Pro is nearly restored from iCloud backup.

Not bad for $50.

(Well… $50 on top of the price of AppleCare, admittedly.)

I just had mine pay off for my 2017 MBP—it mysteriously fell (children) and the screen hit something and cracked. They entered it as a laminate issue so I wouldn’t have to pay the $99.

I’m half surprised I haven’t brought the 2018 IPP in yet; I’ve been hard on it for what it costs.

Thanks this was pretty useful as I have a cracked and bent ipad (don’t ask!) that’s covered under Applecare+ but I am currently out of the US and want to see how I can do this without visiting an Apple Store. :+1:t3:

But, how are you doing?
