Relating to Trying (and failing) to get why iMessage is such a big deal!:
If Apple was somehow convinced to make iMessage cross-platform because of this antitrust stuff… do you think non-Apple people would use it?
Yes. I have friends that switched from Samsung to iPhone only because they were being left out of iMessage group chats.
It depends on where those people lives. Outside the us the answer may be “no” =)
