My situation.
I do engineering consulting work.
Each desktop will be a different project with many applications and typically multiple windows for each application.
I often want to look at all the sheets/PDFs/browser pages/ect… for that project.
Exposing all application windows brings all the windows from all my other projects up.
Mission control bring up all the windows from all the other applications.
Both make much harder to find what I need.
Open to all input 
I could not find a way I thought AppleScript could accomplish my goal but I don’t know it well.
This was thee default case on older mac os and sometimes I use my 2012 MacBook Pro because of this.
