Applying Gift Card balance when buying through the Apple Store

I feel kind of stupid asking this, but I cant see how to apply my Gift Card balance to my purchase of a new iPad in the Apple Store app.

I’ve checked me account and my balance is showing so the gift cards have been redeemed correctly. There doesn’t seem to be any natural way to take that balance off the final total.

Any help would be really appreciated!

I think you may need to chat with Apple Support. I have a vague recollection that you need to add the gift card code directly to the checkout and not to your account.

I have no idea if this is the same issue you’re having, but I recall having an issue applying a gift card last year, and it was because I was trying to add Apple Care paying monthly to my iPad purchase. If I recall the solution, I believe it would work without Apple Care (which I may have then added later), or perhaps with a one-time Apple Care purchase, but not monthly.
