Apps updated to run on the M1 chip and/or Big Sur

Is there any chance that apps updated to the latest OS will become buggy if you’re on say Mojave and don’t have an M1 Mac?

They shouldn’t. New versions become ‘universal’ meaning they should operate as intended depending upon the system it is installed on. Or; your system will determine which version is appropriate for your OS + Machine and download the appropriate file/App.

Any update invites new bugs, however if the app has merely been rebuilt (say, as a universal app) without actual code changes then the potential is smaller.
