This is an intriguing approach. I don’t use social media, so that’s not a particular challenge for me—though this forum is my one guilty pleasure.

That said, I do think the general concept has merit. If you feel the same, it may be worth sharing with others.

The old saying still exudes wisdom:

“Everything in moderation”

The challenge of the above is that for example I run a WhatsApp community for work. We have a work Facebook account and it’s easier to use bring your own device than to have two devices.

I do applaud the intent.

Personally I think they should make smartphones legally an 18+ gadget.

With so many negative consequences for young people involving social media, I’m glad to see someone offering a framework and community for stepping away. At the same time, the social pressures and consequences of an individual opting out of social media are a huge deterrent.

Gen Alpha needs a policy-level solution, but I’d gladly see a social movement take hold.
