Audio Books on HomePod?

Hello,

I’m looking into setting up a HomePod for someone who has some vision impairment. HomePod will work great for telling the day and/or time and playing music on demand via voice commands. Are there any options for playing audio books on the HomePad using voice commands? It would be nice to be able to load some audio books somehow from the public library and then use Siri to start playing a particular audio book. Or, at the very least, is there a way to play audio books from Audible.com?

If you have any other tips/suggestions for HomePod usage in this type of situation, those would be appreciated as well.

HomePod cannot play audio books on its own, unfortunately. It would need some device to send audio to the HomePod with AirPlay.

You should be able to stream audiobooks via AirPlay (or Carplay) with the Audible iOS app.

Also, as a workaround in edge cases you can usually stream just about everything from your Mac to your HomePod with Rogue Amoeba’s AirFoil app.
