August 2020 Sales and Hardware/Software/etc. Deals

Taking a look at Bundlehunt, I think I’ll buy default folder x and ForkLift

  • What else should I check out?
  • Is there a compelling reason to buy PathFinder? Reading through some of the posts, there were issues with v 8 but I’m not sure if those are resolved. and it seems like ForkLift gets me most of the way.

FYI earlier this week The SweetBits called ForkLift the best Finder replacement.

The article’s summary:

“We believe our top pick — ForkLift — would be the most recommended Finder replacement for macOS devices. However, if you need an upgrade to something professional and rich in features, you can consider Path Finder.”

Unless, maybe, you have more experience using it, as per Mark and Steve’s posts above. :man_shrugging:

Regarding ForkLift, do I need to buy two licenses if I’m the only user on two computers?

No! License is on a per-user basis, not per-device. Should be in the app description.

Bought it but Alfons needs to add iCloud sync. Come on dude.

I just realized I could probably do a Keyboard Maestro macro to script the GUI to reload the settings and then assign it to a key on my Stream Deck. That might be a work-around for the lost settings problems.

Jumsoft’s Toolbox for Pages - Templates for Mac just went free. There are numerous IAPs for badges, ribbons and clipart, but they are not required, as there are many free samples included.

Also

SimplyMpress for Mac just dropped from $6.99 to $0.99. It’s a very clunky app (and has poor reviews) but gives interesting vintage-looking output.

SimplyMpress is a typographic and layout tool that lets you quickly create vintage-looking designs for greeting cards, posters, flyers, scrapbooks, and more. Stylize your text and images with a variety of textures that include vintage wood type impressions.

IAPs are discounted as well.
