Auto-correct iPadOS file names

Hey folks: I work on Mac and iPadOS. I have a scheme for my teaching files I developed on my Mac:

course#_year–title of document.

It works well, and I have five years of files using it. But iPadOS insists on auto-correcting the – to an em dash. Now I like this when I’m writing, but not when I’m filing.

Is there any way to disable auto-correct using the Files app?

You can prevent autocorrect from changing something by putting it in as a text replacement (Settings->General->Keyboard->Text Replacement). Put whatever you don’t want changed in as both the Phrase and the Shortcut. However, this will change the behavior everywhere, not just in Files.
