Batch Convert PDF to PDF/A?

To meet some client requirements I have to covert a few hundred PDF documents from PDF (1.3 I believe, created using the Mac OS system print dialog), to PDF/A. Is there an easy way or a tool to do that?

This is easy to do in Acrobat.

You can set it up using the Action Wizard (in Tools when you open the application). Add a save command, in its options select “Export files to an alternative format” and select PDF/A.

Thanks Rob. I take it that’s the full version of Acrobat, not Reader?

Yes, it is with the full version of Adobe Acrobat.

I believe LibreOffice has PDF/A as a Save_As option.
