Be careful moving your Obsidian Vault!

So l live in Dropbox and have done for many years. When l started my Obsidian/Claude Vault l had it synced in a Dropbox Folder.
Dozens of Skills, reports, procedures, scheduled tasks, a couple of MCPS, rules etc later l thought last week that since many in the MacSparky workshops were touting the better performance of using the Obsidian Sync l decided to go down that rabbit hole. I THOUGHT a simple move of my vault from Dropbox, and back to my root directory, enable Obsidian Sync, point Claude to the new directory and every thing would be done. WRONG…! 2 Days later and I am STILL working thru the fix ups. Sadly l (nor my Robot) envisaged such a monumental task. Things have been crashing, not finding files, skills broken EVEN THOUGH l asked my robot to fix EVERY MENTION of a Dropbox link. I am now too far in to go back but this has been an important lesson. NEVER move my vault and expect it not to break things. I was running perfectly in a project (like Anthropic said to do) but by moving the attached folder I also learnt you can’t change the Project primary folder, and adding a second one just creates even more issues as Claude can ONLY write to the original one that no longer exists…!! Makes you realise just how new all of this is.
