Long time Arc for Mac user here. Saw this new browser mentioned on Mastodon this morning and have joined the beta. Very impressed with it so far. It’s what Arc for iPad could’ve been.
Note: iPadOS 26+ only!
(Which I only discovered after signing up and opening the TestFlight link in vain…)
Interesting. ![]()
The only weird thing is that I cannot find anything about the developer apart from this Reddit thread. The developer identifies himself as “Henrik”.
No further information on the app’s website - apart from the last name - (Henrik) Singh. No blog posts or articles from any publication I know.
And then there is this weird App Store entry for an iPhone browser called Beam Browser.
It was launched in January. It does use identifiers to track the user. The developer’s website is https://www.linearproxy.top. It does not exist anymore. Is this app related to the new iPad app? I don’t know. But the icons look similar - and the naming is the same.
Beware when entering data on websites, a browser has access to everything you are doing with it… ![]()
EDIT: Seems to be a different developer. Another app from “Henrik Singh”:
According to his X account, he is a student located in London.
Henrik is a very common Nordic and North-European name, while every Sihk I know is named Singh, originating from north-west India. Interesting…
Hey! I’m Henrik - the creator of Beam. This post was just brought to my attention - happy to answer any questions ![]()
Sorry about this! Since I built and designed it specifically using liquid glass etc it makes it difficult to maintain and built for older versions at the same time. Once it is launched and stable, I may make it available for iPadOS 17/18
Hey - it’s Henrik! Yeah the other Beam browser is something I found after I had decided on the name for my browser, but it seems to be for an entirely different audience - still a little annoying though! But I can assure you it is nothing to do with me
I’m a secondary school student based in London - and yes, ExamCountdowns was my other (first) project that I made a few months ago, and was my first iOS app project as well. The name you see it published under on the app store is my dad’s name, as I am under 18
As for your privacy concerns - I totally understand being skeptical about new browsers - I assure you no data is stored or sent anywhere outside of the ipad (or apple’s native icloud sync if/when I launch an iOS app for it), and it has all been verified by Apple in the app review process, which is very vigorous. I’m the single solo dev of Beam

Hey, it’s Henrik! You got that exactly right - my mum is Swedish and my dad is Sihk ![]()
Born and lived in London my whole life though (and English is the only language I really know)
Happy to answer any questions
Well then ![]()
